About Me:
 

Miguel (Lukie) Florencio is a journalist who produces stories that focus on music, race, and culture.

 

His work has been published in The New Yorker, ABC News, iHeartRadio, and EDM Identity, and he has covered and photographed music festivals such as Coachella, Electric Zoo, and Experts Only Fest NYC.

 

In the summer of 2021, the International Center for Journalists awarded Miguel the Arthur F. Burns fellowship, during which he reported in Europe for ABC News. His fellowship work included coverage of Germany’s general election and the economic challenges Amsterdam’s sex workers faced amid the pandemic.

 

Before moving from Los Angeles to New York, he worked for Goldenvoice and Insomniac, playing a role in the production of their music events, like Coachella, Camp Flog Gnaw, and EDC Las Vegas. Currently, he is a copy editor at The New Yorker.
